What is the photographer like?
Hello, I'm Wendy Roth. It's said that potential clients want to know about their photographer/shooter, so here's a little information about me.
I love to read, especially sci-fi and fantasy (Robert Jordan & Ray Bradbury are two favorites). I like most types of music, but no thanks on reggae. Watching Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther movies really never gets old. I love movies, and I enjoy going to plays and concerts.
AND I have almost every ticket stub I ever bought.

I may cry at your wedding.
(Did you know that happy tears are contagious?!)
I will *not* eat pickled beets, capers or black licorice...and this won't change, even to book a shoot.
Soooo gross. [shudder]
But I love cauliflower, peas, and Brussels Sprouts...and yes, you can sneak them to me & I will eat them for you. (if I can also have your cake.)
I love cats.
My dog doesn't.
My family is my favorite thing that isn't a camera; they are good-looking, smart, supportive, and generally hilarious; sometimes they make me laugh so hard that I may or may not snort out loud. (There's no actual evidence of this.)
I hope to be more like my mom when I grow up.
I'm an aunt several times over, and I'm not averse to using bribery; I might promise your kids some funny-face shots (or candy) to get the "nice smile" first.
And here's a lesser-known absolute:
adults will do the "rabbit ears" thing far more often than kids will.
(Maybe I need to bring more candy.)

About my style & your shoot:
My photography is "true-to-color" shooting* and the way I photograph people is about showcasing their relationships and personalities. I always look for authentic moments & joyful interactions.
A photo shoot should be a low-stress experience - so we'll get the posed portraits, but we'll also be having fun in-between the poses. I'm also going to let the kids be themselves, so please *don't worry* if they don't want to sit still...that's part of their personality and it captures who they really are right now.
These are the shots that I hope will be shown when their first dates come over to meet the parents, as well as the shots that these same little ones will show their own kids someday.
[Plus there's justice to be had by you later...because their kids will do it to them, too.] ;)
Hate being photographed?
Oh hey, me too...so just let me know you feel that way about having pictures done.
I try to make sure every shoot is as easy as we can make it, plus as short & sweet as possible - and kinda fun...so I'll get your charm and good looks photographed for your family to have, and you won't hate it as much as you think you will.
I'd love to talk with you about photographing your family, senior, or special event so you can look back at your pictures to remember this part of your life...which is already special right now, and will be even more so in years to come.
